As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back and appreciate the moments, big and small, that defined our year.
It wasn’t just about what we accomplished, but how we did it: together, with energy, curiosity, and plenty of cake. This is our 2024 Wrapped, and it tells the story of a team that’s grown, evolved, and had a whole lot of fun along the way.
Over 100,000 Skype Messages
Let’s start with the obvious: we sent a lot of messages. Over 100,000 of them, to be exact. For our colleagues working remotely or in hybrid setups, these messages were essentials for feeling part of the day-to-day rhythm of the team.
We estimate about 70% of our messages were work-related (truly), 20% were memes (some repeat offenders deserve awards), and the remaining 10% were variations of a now-legendary phrase: “Can you, please, move the car?”
48 Football Matches
We also took our competitive spirit to the football field. Over the course of the year, we played 48 weekly football matches. And it wouldn’t be a proper match without at least 19 minor arguments over penalty decisions.
These games weren’t just about sport. They were about showing what teamwork looks like outside of project timelines and meetings.
49 Happy Fridays
We celebrated 49 Happy Fridays in 2024, our weekly excuse to close the laptops a little early and gather together. If our Spotify history could talk, it would probably ask us to reconsider some of our choices.
Whether through casual conversations, shared meals, or a moment to unplug, these gatherings became a simple but meaningful expression of our culture: people-first.
94 New Faces
Our team grew significantly this year. We welcomed 94 new colleagues. That’s 94 fresh perspectives, backgrounds, talents, and stories. This year reaffirmed that our ability to grow while staying grounded in our values is one of our greatest strengths.
The only downside? We’re now officially out of kitchen chairs. It’s a small problem, but a pretty good one to have.
What’s next?
Our culture is not just a set of values on a wall, but something lived every day: in messages and meetings, on football fields and cake breaks, through big wins and quiet moments.
