As summer was coming to an end and the new school year was just around the corner, we wanted to do something to help make the transition a little easier for children and families who need a helping hand.
At the beginning of September, we joined Rotaract’s Back to School initiative, supporting children from Cluj-Napoca and the surrounding area with school essentials for the year ahead. It was one of a few volunteering initiatives our team took part in over the summer.
The idea was simple: bring our team together and collect backpacks and supplies that could help children start the new school year feeling prepared and confident.
And we made it happen!
Starting school with a little extra support
Together, we collected 32 backpacks, along with extra school supplies including notebooks, pencil cases, pens, and more. With everyone’s contributions combined, we collected enough backpacks and school supplies to help equip an entire classroom of children for the new school year.
Starting a new school year should be about new beginnings, excitement, and the promise of what’s ahead. But for some families, making sure children have everything they need for that first day can be a challenge. That’s where small acts of kindness can make a real difference. A backpack filled with essentials is more than just school supplies. It can bring a sense of comfort, confidence, and reassurance, helping children walk into the new school year knowing they are prepared and supported.
