Bridging the gap between development and quality assurance is more than a process change. It requires a mindset shift. Two of our teammates from the Timișoara office, Andrei Tamas and Claudiu Sola, took the initiative to make it real by coordinating a hands-on workshop for our development team. Their goal was simple yet impactful: help the team get familiar with QA methodologies and strengthen our ability to deliver software that’s not only functional but truly reliable.
During the session, our colleagues gained new testing skills, a deeper understanding of QA processes, and valuable advice on ensuring the quality of their work. They were guided through automated testing techniques to understand the nuances of bug reporting and test case design. The result was a set of meaningful insights that participants could immediately bring into their daily tasks.
What Developers Learned
The session gave the team more than just new skills; it gave them a new mindset. Among the key takeaways were:
- Automated testing techniques: how to write and maintain tests that prevent regressions and keep code robust.
- Effective bug reporting: turning vague issues into clear, actionable feedback for faster fixes.
- Test case design: building test scenarios that go beyond the obvious to catch edge cases before they slip into production.
- Critical thinking & anticipation: learning to spot risks early and think like a “quality gatekeeper”.
Insights from organizers
Andrei: “The quality of a software product improves fastest when developers and QAs collaborate from an early point in the development process. Seeing developers approach testing with curiosity and critical thinking during the session proved that building reliable software is a shared responsibility.”
Claudiu: “Our goal was to give developers the practical skills and mindset to take ownership of improving quality across the various implementations. By demystifying test processes and showing how structured bug reports and tailored test cases accelerate delivery, we helped the team see QA as an enabler rather than a gatekeeper.”
Why It Mattered
What set this session apart was its real-world focus. By encouraging curiosity, foresight, and proactive problem-solving, Andrei and Claudiu showed us that quality isn’t a department, it’s a mindset.
The initiative didn’t just sharpen testing skills, it also brought development and QA closer together. When developers understand QA principles, they don’t just ship better code, they help nurture a culture of quality across the organisation.
We’re grateful for Andrei and Claudiu’s dedication and excited to see the ripple effect of these practices in future projects.

Recommended QA Tools and Resources
To support continued learning, the session wrapped up with a toolkit of QA resources:
- Playwright – modern, developer-friendly frameworks for fast end-to-end and regression testing
- Postman – for exploring and automating API tests
- Allure – for unified reporting and tracking test results.
- Xray Jira – for structuring and maintaining test cases alongside development work.
